IEMCA VP 80 Flag Open Error

Mon, 10/22/2018 - 09:39
We changed over fromrunning our 3 jaw chuck back to our collet chuck on our Mori SL-153 with anIEMCA VP-80 bar feeder.
When the pusherloads a new bar we are getting and error: Error:flag open
The error occursafter the loader pushes the bar into the collet. It errors before evenreturning to its home position.
We know that theswitch is working that detects the flag. We also know that the signal is beingmade at the SU210 control.
We think we may havea parameter issue. Something that was changed when we were running the 3 jawchuck vs the collet chuck.
Looking for ideas.
Thanks

I guess that it would be probably better to run across the Siemens manual for a pretty quick support.

Makino seiki tapping problem

Sat, 09/22/2018 - 00:50
Can anyone help me to solve the problem with Makino Seiki 1992 model VMC with Fanuc O-M control.

Is tapping is possible in this machine ??. It works on tapping cycle but the spindle orientation is missing thus thread getting damaged during retraction. How to solve.

This machine is with auto tool changer.

Tsugami Swiss trouble...

Have a B0326-II that has some issues. Main side seems fine, sub side is a pain. When I set a part up, and run it to only run one part, all is fine. But, when I run it in continuous cycle, diameters on X axis(sub side) change by about +.003, just on the first operation, and hold there. Touch off on Z axis at zero, and have to make a +.015 offset to achieve my OAL. Doing any kind of break/radius during the first op, I have to really alter programming in order to achieve what I need, a .01 45 deg. looks like a backwards radius. I have checked ball screws, no backlash. Believe it to be electrical. Any ideas/suggestions are appreciated.

System Interrupt X Home

Sun, 09/16/2018 - 14:09
Running a MultiCam A series router (old from around 2004 but has been great for our usage) however now it's not homing correctly. It finds Z and Y perfectly fine like normal but when finding X it is moving to the right of the table (if i recall correctly it normally goes to the left), extremely slow and once it reaches the right end it continues to try to go further but physically can't so I have to stop it. I don't ever receive an error while it's doing this until I manually stop it and try to do anything else I get promts such as "System Interrupt: X Home" or "Limit Still Active X Home". I am unable to move

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I tried contacting tech support but they weren't much help and recommended sending a tech onsite but that is more than a week out and quite expensive. Thank you in advance!

Oscillating Spindle sander build

Fri, 09/14/2018 - 22:58
Hi Guy's I could use some help with connection devices For the main shaft I am thinking of this ....20mm Linear Optical shaft held by 2 Ball bearing blocks. The shaft will have a pulley on it and a belt drive to a motor to spin the shaft at around 2300 rpm.I wish to have a collet at the top and don't know how they mount to shafts nor do I know what collect to buy so help there would be great.... I think I need a Motor shaft collet chuck ER20A-20mm and collets to suit Here is an ebay link for what I think I need but I don't fully understand the terminology and I'm not sure if it will fit over a 20mm shaft https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motor-Sh...53.m1438.l2649 The collets will need to be able to handle a range of sizes from 3mm to 10mm.At the bottom of the shaft I was going to use a windscreen wiper motor and a crank system turning an offset wheel, this will give the shaft vertical rise and fall,I need the shaft to move up and down approximately 40mm @ around 75-100 rpm. I would also like to have a button to push to lock the shaft to change collets again not sure what to use ? Many thanks for reading ...dropbox drawing for explaination https://www.dropbox.com/s/nh359qla57...ander.pdf?dl=0

Surface Roughness Problem

Thu, 09/13/2018 - 15:19
I'm assuming you mean 50 Ra for finish. 2 mm is not that much to remove. I'd use the surface grinder, easier to square up and easier to control.

Can't remove it. Mineral Spirits and other solvents do nothing to it. These parts are machined out of 12L14 w/ tellurium. They use red cutting oil in the machine. And like I said, it only shows up on that shoulder. It is definitely not rust.
