Machining/milling services?

Thu, 12/13/2018 - 05:18
Hello; I have a circuit that I want to fabricate. I am searching for machining/milling services. The material is aluminum. I have sent it to several companies; however, they answer that they can’t fabricate it. The structure is too tiny. It is an array of a small bed of nail. The gap between the nails is about 0.2mm and the base wall thickness is about 0.5mm. Can anyone suggest some solutions?

Sinumerik 810T GA3

Wed, 12/12/2018 - 15:08
Hello every one , I just started with the forum as I need some help.
I have a CNC lathe with a SIemens 810 GA1 from the 80's bougth new at the time . For some reason all data in control has been lost .
We have all data stored in discs and computers and etc. We have been able to load TA1 and TA2 , but we are unable to load the PLC program becouse is not a PCP file is an S5D program and our comunication programs does not recognize this kind of files.

Is there any way to convert an S5D Siemens step 5 program to a text format ? there is somebody who can help on loading the plc program in to the PLC?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm getting an alarm saying ( please select milling mode ). I was two tools in and got to optional stop. After hitting reset ( by accident ) I had to cancel c-axis synch mode with m481 then tried to start there. that's when I get the alarm. ( please select milling mode ) The only way to get past it was to completely shut down and fire it back up. Any ideas??????

Regards, dear YuuTool,

After swapping the drivers the problem followed the driver and not the motor. After more investigation into the driver I observed that the settings were differents in the x and y driver while the one from x and z are similar. Therefore I tried to change the settings of the y driver to match the one from the x driver. It was actually not possible to do it because some of the settings range didn't allow me to match the target value. It is like if the internal firmware of the y driver was different from others.
Finnaly I observed that if I disconnect the feedback cable of the Y drive while power is on nothing appens while the same experiment on any other driver turns it into error.
I bought this machine somewhere called USBEART in the web it is chinese material with no brand.

I bought a new driver because I'm pretty sure that this one has an internal failure. the new one is a very common AASD model and should arrive next week.

best regards

Nakamura WT-300 turret position check before part transfer

Tue, 12/04/2018 - 10:13
Hi everyone,
I have been asked by a customer of mine in the UK if it is possible to create a sub program / macro that could check the position of the upper and lower turrets before a part transfer between spindles happens as a safety check. From my experience on other machine tools of this type for example Okuma I can check turret positions using system variables to make sure turrets are in safe positions and create an alarm condition if this is not correct.

I am not familiar of what is available on Nakamura WT-300 type machines to check this type of thing. The UK agents for Nakamura are not too helpful and would want paying for this help!!!

Hope someone can help.

The answer from Fanuc was pretty useless. Relates to 3 phase power

Tue, 12/04/2018 - 01:50
So what do ya'll think? I do not have three phase power here and $40k to get it, well My little shop can't pull that off.
I have been running my Hitachi Seiki VK-45 using a rotary phase converter (yes it is a big one). These things don't make the cleanest three phase. Motors and such don't really care but control systems do. I run the power from the converter into a three phase variac to balance the output. Without it the converter puts out something like 205, 285, 230 volts. With the variac I can dial it in to 220 across the board. Part of the problem I am guessing is that it does not follow load variations well.

I try to be careful and have reduced the braking and acceleration of the spindle to much longer times that is recommended by Hitachi Seiki. My problem is the Fanuc spindle drive A06B-6055-H106 has failed twice now in about a 10 year period and I don't run the machine everyday, hours on end and try to baby it as much as I can. "They" want $2800 to $3500 to fix said spindle drive. Last time they did it, it died two weeks after the six month warranty.

I asked Fanuc how I might better protect this @$#%$@! fragile darned thing, they just said 'get three phase power'....there is that $40k problem again. There must be something out there that can better condition the power that I have.

Any ideas?

Mazak VARIAXIS 500-5X II

Tue, 11/27/2018 - 00:59
Dear All,

Good Day
We have Mazak VARIAXIS 500-5X II CNC machine.
Due to low battery fault on Meldas AC servo drive of Pallet selection servo motor we are getting Alarm No 330 " Pallet select Driver alarm".
After changing battery and selecting MR-J2-CT servo drive software to reset drive parameter we get Write protect warning. Please let me know how we can remove write protect. Is it due to Control Command1 (CTCM1) bit2 "*PRT1" not set? How to set this R register address and what is that R register number?
Awaiting your reply.
